If you actually live in Beijing and have already been to most other sights, this is a nice park ( ●
map ) to spend a couple of hours. (It took us 2 hours to walk though. You can also rent electric cars for 80 RMB per hour). I don’t think it’s worth it for tourists with limited time in Beijing. Don’t expect too much as some of the models are pretty poorly built to the point of hilarity. There are a couple of actually fairly nice models of world famous sights though. It was not too crowded so it was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
It costs 100 RMB to enter the park and extra if you want to go on rides or enter special areas. We spent another 10 to enter this extremely lame Time Tunnel which was 2 minutes we could never get back. Not recommended. They have a song & dance show at the outdoor theater near the north gate at 2:30 pm. The performances were pretty tacky but amusing if you lower your expectations.
You can exit through the South Gate (not really clearly marked-they don’t sell tickets here so I don’t think you can enter through here) and take the subway home — Fangshan Line [ 房山线 ]’s Dabaotai [ 大葆台 ] station which connects to Line 9 in 1 stop.
